Day 01
Arrive Muscat: Assistance on
arrival at Seeb airport (Muscat) and transfer to
hotel of your choice.
Day 02
In Muscat: Muscat offers the
visitor a unique opportunity to witness a modern
commercial center existing in harmony with its
traditional culture. Our tour commences with visit
to the Grand Mosque* one of the largest Mosque in
the Islamic world. Drive along the ministry and
embassy area. For those interested visit to the
local fish market can also be provided. Drive
along the waterfront Corniche visiting the
colorful Muttrah Souq. Also visit a museum
followed by photo stop at Al Alam Palace, the
Palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, flanked by
the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and
Jalali. Afternoon at leisure
Day 03
Muscat – Sur – Ras Al Hadd: We
depart by 4WD via the scenic and rugged coastal
route. This tour offers breathtaking glimpses of
the blue waters of the Gulf of Oman offset by
pristine white beaches.
After we drive past the fishing village of
Quriyat our first stop is the Bimah
sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with
blue green water at the bottom. Then stop at
fins beach, one of the beautiful white sands
beach.
Drive ahead to Wadi Tiwi. The road to Tiwi
winds between old houses. The sight is remarkable
with its lush green plantations and water flowing
all year around. Later in the evening after an
early dinner visit The Turtle beach to see
wild turtles nesting ground. Overnight at Hotel
Day 04
Sur – Wahiba Sands – Nizwa
Embark on a full day tour to Wadi Bani Khalid
–an Oasis spot in the middle of the barren and dry
mountains and then to Wahiba – the great
Arabian Desert. Visit a Bedouin house, &
enjoy the skill of your driver navigating on the
sand dunes. Later proceeds to Nizwa- the cultural
capital of Oman. On arrival check into hotel for
overnight stay.
Day 05
In Nizwa: We proceed to visit
the famous round tower fort of Nizwa
probably on of the best architecture in Oman. Then
we visit the famous Nizwa souq where the
Arabian potteries, Imported spices, gold and
silver ware are sold here. If this day falls on
Friday then visit of cattle market is very
interesting. The villagers from the surrounding
villages gather to sell there live stock in their
traditional style.
Also visit the forts of Bahla & Jabrin
Day 06
Nizwa – Muscat (by surface) & Muscat - Salalah
(by flight)
Depart to Seeb Airport to catch flight for Salalah.
Meet & assist on arrival and transfer to Hotel.
Day 07
Salalah: Tour of West and East
Salalah
The tour commences with a visit to a museum
to acquaint us with the rich history of Oman,
dating back to 5000 years.
Driving through the old town of 'Taqa' we
arrive at the bay of 'Sumhurum' believed to
be the location of Queen Sheeba, where trading of
Frankincense took place. The ruins are
spectacular, giving an insight into detailed
locations of storage & living conditions.
Continue on the coastal road & visit an
interesting '2 Onion-Domed' Mosque with an
old Cemetery. We also walk through the old village
of ‘Mirbat’, which displays traditional
ancient Omani architecture.
Return to Salalah City for lunch & thereafter,
proceed west, passing-by the ruins of 'Al Balid'.
The route to the 'Mughsail beach' passes
through isolated Frankincense trees where
we make a brief stop to smell & experience the
product. Visit the spectacular 'Blow Holes'
at the Mughsail beach and the Tomb of Prophet
Job, situated in the mountains.
Day 08
Salalah / Muscat (by flight)
Morning visit the Gold and Frankincense Souk.
Later transfer to Salalah Airport for your flight
to Muscat.
